The 5 Best Rooms For Ductless A/C

Are you looking for an efficient and cost-effective way to keep your home cool this summer? Consider installing a ductless A/C unit. This type of air conditioning system has become increasingly popular in recent years because it is a great way to keep a single room or area of your home comfortable and energy-efficient. In this blog post, we’ll explore the best rooms to utilize a ductless A/C unit and why they are ideal for keeping your space cool.

Living Rooms

When it comes to choosing the best room in your home for a ductless A/C unit, the living room is a great place to start. A ductless A/C unit will be able to provide efficient cooling to this room as well as provide more targeted cooling so that certain parts of the room stay cooler than others. This is especially helpful if you have large furniture pieces like a sofa or entertainment center that tend to trap heat. Additionally, if you have an open floor plan, you can use a ductless A/C unit to cool both your living room and dining room simultaneously. The multiple-zone capability of these units allows you to customize the temperature in each room, which can help you save energy by only cooling the parts of your home that you are actually using. Furthermore, ductless A/C units are fairly easy to install and can be done without having to install ducts in your home. This makes them a great choice for any living room.

Bedrooms

When it comes to cooling down bedrooms, a ductless A/C unit is an ideal choice. They can be installed in spaces where traditional air conditioning systems might not fit, making them great for small and large bedrooms alike. Ductless units are also quieter than window air conditioners, meaning you won't have to worry about the loud noise disrupting your sleep. With the ability to adjust temperatures in each room, you can make sure your bedroom is always the perfect temperature for sleep. Plus, because they're energy-efficient, you won't have to worry about skyrocketing electricity bills. Investing in a ductless A/C unit for your bedroom could be the perfect way to keep cool this summer.

Kitchens

When it comes to keeping your kitchen cool during the summer months, a ductless air conditioner can be a great solution. The main benefit of installing a ductless AC in your kitchen is that it can help keep the air fresh and free of food odors. Additionally, with its adjustable fan speed, you can keep the temperature at a comfortable level while also controlling humidity. It's also important to note that a ductless unit can help reduce your energy bills as it uses less electricity than traditional air conditioning systems.

Ductless air conditioners are typically easy to install and don't require any complicated wiring. All you need is an exterior wall to mount the unit on. Most models come with their own remote control, allowing you to easily adjust settings from anywhere in the room. When choosing the right model for your kitchen, consider its BTU rating to ensure it can adequately cool the area. Installing a ductless air conditioner in your kitchen will not only help keep the space cool and comfortable but will also help improve the air quality and reduce your energy costs. It's a great way to make your kitchen more enjoyable during the summer months!

Home Offices

Working from home can be a great way to stay productive and comfortable, but if your office is an unpleasantly hot environment, it can be difficult to stay motivated. One great solution is to install a ductless A/C unit in your home office. Ductless A/C units are small and efficient, making them a great choice for smaller rooms like home offices. They don’t require extensive installation or complicated ductwork, so you can have cool air circulating through your workspace in no time.

Garages

Garages can sometimes be a tricky space to keep cool. They often lack the insulation and structure of other rooms, making them more prone to temperature extremes. Fortunately, ductless A/C units are an ideal option for garages. Not only are they extremely energy-efficient, but they are also quiet and easy to install. The best part about using a ductless A/C unit for your garage is that it will not take up too much space. In fact, many models are designed to be small enough to fit in tight spaces. Plus, since they don’t require any permanent installation, you can easily move them from room to room as needed.

Ductless A/C units offer a great way to cool your Arizona home without the hassle of installing a traditional air conditioning system. They are especially beneficial for small rooms that would otherwise be difficult to cool. Living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, home offices, and garages are all excellent candidates for a ductless A/C unit. With their easy installation and efficient operation, these systems provide a great way to keep your home cool and comfortable all summer long. Ready to install a ductless system? How Do The New HVAC Requirements Affect Arizona Homeowners?

Did you know The Department of Energy (DOE) has passed new HVAC system requirements that will go into effect on January 1st, 2023? Make sure you are aware of these new regulations. Especially if you are thinking of replacing your HVAC system. All new systems installed after January 1, 2023, will face tougher guidelines for energy efficiency requirements, testing, and certifications. So you may be thinking, how does this impact me? Let our team explain below.

Why are these changes taking place?

Every six years, The Department of Energy updates its regulations in an effort to reduce energy consumption in the United States. They ensure each system is up to date and that all systems are efficient for homeowners. Each area of the U.S. has its own guidelines it must follow to comply with these standards.

What are the new regulations?

These new regulations will go into effect on and after January 1, 2023, and all systems installed will have to have a SEER rating of at least 15. Meaning that you will have to pay more upfront starting next year for a new system. Although the initial investment may be higher, it will ensure you are getting a quality system that will be efficient and cost less in the long run.  Right now, the requirement is a minimum SEER rating of 14.

Do I need to update my system?

No, you do not. Systems that are already installed do not need to be updated. But anything purchased will need to meet this requirement. Meaning, if you are thinking about installing a new system, it is best to do it before January 1st if you are concerned about the initial investment cost.

How can Wolfgangs help you?

Our team has a variety of systems we can install for your home. If you are looking to purchase a new system in the coming months, the time is now to do so before these new regulations take effect. If you are interested in a new system that meets these requirements, we can certainly help install an energy-efficient system for your Arizona home.

Useful DIY Dad HVAC Tips to Keep Things Running Smoothly

This Father’s Day we give thanks to dad for molding and influencing us into the resourceful problem solvers we are today.

Many useful household maintenance and repair tricks were learned under dad’s watchful eye and helpful guidance, including keeping the HVAC system running smoothly.

Now, in recognition of Father’s Day, let’s take a look at some DIY Heating and Air Conditioning tips we picked up from dad over the years, and how we can easily start implementing them in our own homes today!

Dad Always Knew When To Change the Filters

itstimetochangethefiltersDoes thinking about dad changing out your home’s HVAC filters conjure up any memories? Or, perhaps you remember riding with him to the hardware store for the 2nd time that day because he grabbed the wrong size filter replacement?

You probably have some stories, but either way, dad was staying on top of your home’s HVAC system. By replacing filters consistently, your system would provide clean air.

This helps in reducing damage to the unit... from loose particles, and reducing your monthly energy usage. Dad always knew when it was time to change the filters, and we have him to thank for those cool summers and warm winters.

Thank Your Dad For Cleaning The Outdoor Unit

cleantheoutdoorunitDid anyone remember to venture outside to clean the outdoor unit? Probably not, but we bet dad did when the seasons changed.

A well-functioning A/C unit requires a thorough cleaning of the outdoor unit as part of its regular maintenance; this is because it collects a thick blanket of dirt and debris throughout the year, preventing the unit from properly emitting the heat it produces.

When a machine such as an AC unit can’t properly maintain its air flow, there can be a tendency for it to break down and lead to more costly repairs or replacement. So, follow dad’s example, and make sure you don’t ignore the outdoor unit and give it a thorough cleaning.

Follow These Tips to Prevent Air Leakage

Even if you diligently monitor your home’s temperature and change out the filters, it won’t matter if the air is escaping through cracks and unsealed areas of your home.

Dad knew the trick to a properly heated and cooled home was to prevent air leakage and ensure everything is properly sealed. If you need a place to start, here are some useful tips to get you going in the right direction:

Proper HVAC maintenance is essential to the comfort and smooth running of a home, so be sure to thank dad for his diligence this Father’s Day. Without dad and his example of proper HVAC care, you may not have the good habits and know-how for DIY maintenance that you have today. Cheers to all the DIY Dads out there, and Happy Father’s Day!
