Stop Here to Learn More About Your Cooling Options!

Here in Arizona, everybody knows the importance of having the best possible cooling system. If you have had the same AC unit in your home since you moved in, you might not be too thrilled when the time comes to replace it. Investing in an AC system is a big decision because it is a costly investment.

If you’re replacing the AC after a long time, you should know that there are a lot more options you can choose for a cooling system than you might know. We will give you a quick overview of the different types of cooling systems you can install at home. As always, you can always schedule our HVAC services in Glendale, AZ, if you need any help with your cooling system.

Types of Cooling Systems

Here are four popular types of HVAC systems you can consider.

1.     Central Air Conditioning Split System

A central air conditioning split system consists of an outdoor unit that contains the condenser and compressor, and an indoor unit that contains the blower and evaporator coil. It is the most popular type of system currently in use, and a furnace can share the same ductwork as the air conditioner.

2.     Heat Pump

Heat pumps are a hybrid heating and cooling system. While the name of heat pumps might suggest it is purely a heater, it is a system that can do both. Heat pumps can warm up your house. However, they can also reverse the function by using the refrigerant to transfer heat out and blow cool air indoors through the vents.

3.     Ductless Mini-Split Heat Pump

Ductless mini-split heat pumps operate similarly to ducted heat pumps. They rely on using refrigerant for heat transfer to heat the home during winters and cool it down during the summers. However, they can be installed to manage the temperature of a specific area of the house. You can typically install up to four indoor units for each outdoor unit in a ductless mini-split heat pump.

4.     Packaged Heating and Air Conditioning System

A packaged HVAC system contains a compressor, condenser, and evaporator coil in one unit that is usually located near the foundation or on the roof of a house. It can be an excellent system for homes and offices that don’t have a lot of space to spare for all the components of other cooling systems.
